I recently had another honor of creating this artpiece for a woman who's best friend struggles with depression. She sketched out what she wanted and sent it my way.

Honestly- this one was difficult. My first version came out muddy, dark, and LOOKED a little depressing- when that was the exact opposite of what I was going for. This was supposed to resemble hope, love, comfort, and companionship. So, I tweaked and tweaked and finally came up with this. The customer and I were both pleased.

Back in the day, (or just over a year ago, lol), when Dilly Designs was first getting started, I wasn't sure which direction Dilly Designs should go. Should I make princesses, superheroes, popular quotes? Should I not offer printables and print and ship all my art? Should I just offer custom orders? I've had many cross roads and this was one of them. What am I meant to do?

The more and more orders I got, the more I realized that there is art missing in the world. Art that people don't have to pay a hefty custom order price to receive. Art that speaks to their personal story. Art meant just for them. Art that isn't pricey, but still high-quality and beautiful. Art that can be gifted to a grieving loved one, when words are simply inadequate.

The words spoken today at President Monson's funeral were so beautiful. This line stuck out to me from his daughter's talk, "I feel we've done some good today." Such wisdom and good in an amazing man. I pray I can remember this simple phrase each day- and have changed "we've" to "I've" so I can hang this in my home and remember this man filled with service and love- and try to be more like him and Christ.

I haven't shared this, but my testimony was weak before I fell into art and graphic design. Dilly Designs has been such a great service for ME and my testimony. I am so humbled and blessed that through helping others, I've been able to strengthen my testimony of this dear, beautiful, AMAZING church. I will forever be grateful that Heavenly Father has led me down this path.

Tip for printing: I love printing from the UPS store! They order in paper for me, but I also love printing on their 14pt cardstock (but they have a lot of great cardstocks) that they usually carry in stock. I prefer matte finishes over glossy finishes. **If you aren't satisfied with the coloring from printing, try a different paper or printer.

Due to high demand, all custom orders will open TWICE a year. Once from April 1st - May 10th, (in time for Mother's Day), and again from November 1st - December 10th. (in time for Christmas.) My business has grown tremendously over the past year, (which I am so grateful!), but in order to keep up with the new demand, this change needed to be made.
